Here's what we've been up to lately and how YOU can join

Israel’s latest plan to annex large swaths of the occupied Palestinian West Bank as soon as July 1 should not surprise anyone since the Trump administration gave Israel the green light to do so in its January 2020 plan.  The illegal annexation of Palestinian land is a continuum of Israel’s settler-colonial project and the realization of a Greater Israel.

Not only is the president of the United States enabling Israel to move forward with its annexation plans; many Members of Congress are as well, either through outright support for Israeli annexation or through toothless statements with no consequences for Israel.

Stay tuned as AMP ramps up its opposition to Israeli annexation and provides you with educational resources and action opportunities beginning next week.

On a related note, American Muslims for Palestine joined more than one hundred human rights organizations calling on the Trump and Biden campaigns to establish a principled foreign policy towards Israel and the Palestinian people based on justice, freedom, equality, and human dignity. Click here to read our letter to the Biden and Trump campaigns.

We also hosted a webinar with Dr. Rashid Khalidi and AMP Board Chair Dr. Hatem Bazian to discuss Zionism and Israel’s century-long war on Palestine and Israel’s annexation plans.

Watch the full recording of the webinar here and share with your family and friends.

AMP recently launched its monthly webinar series to discuss the plague of anti-racism. The first of these webinars featured prominent Black religious and community leaders, Rev. Graylan Hagler, Sr Iesha Prime, and Imam Amir AbdelMalek who shared their life experiences and socio-political perspectives and also offered practical solutions to build a just and anti-racist society.

We invite you to watch the first episode here, share it with your friends and family, and post it on social media with the hashtag #LetsTalkBLM.

We applaud our Dallas Chapter for its anti-racism work. In response to George Floyd’s murder, AMP-Dallas co-organized and co-led a “Rally for the People, by the People” in collaboration with community organizations fighting against racism and police brutality.

AMP recognizes this important intersectional solidarity work and thanks to the leadership and membership of AMP-Dallas. THANK YOU!

By now you have probably heard that we’ve moved our annual in-person Palestine Advocacy Day in Washington, DC to an exciting Virtual Palestine Advocacy the week of September 14.

To state the obvious, this change is because of the pandemic and also because Congressional offices are not currently hosting physical meetings.

We urge you, however, to take advantage of the Virtual Palestine Advocacy Day from the comforts of your home. Get more details here and register today.

AMP’s intersectional solidarity work continues across the country. We are happy to be endorsing the Counter CUFI: Invest in Justice campaign.

On June 28, AMP’s Associate Director of Outreach & Grassroots Organizing, Taher Herzallah, will join our friends, Friends of Sabeel in North America (FOSNA) to examine and discuss justice for all to counter Christians United for Israel (CUFI).

Help us expose Christian Zionism and advocate for an end to U.S. military aid to Israel. Register here!

American Muslims for Palestine relies on conscientious people like you. We not only want you to join us but we need you in our shared struggle against the plague of racism and all its evil siblings' xenophobia, Islamophobia, Zionism, and Hindutva, to name a few.

Support us and join us. It is only together; we can make a difference
