Israel is using the current situation in Jerusalem as a pretext to change the internationally recognized status quo of Al Aqsa. They closed the sacred site to Friday prayers last week. When authorities reopened the mosque on Monday, they had installed metal detectors and checkpoints at the gates.

This is unacceptable and proof Israel is working toward dividing the Divine mosque like Ibrahimi mosque in Al Khalil. Palestinians in Jerusalem have refused to enter through the metal detectors and for nearly one week have been praying outside the gates.
