Take Action: No Weapons on United

On September 9, United Airlines reportedly transported five shipments of military cargo on a commercial passenger flight from New Jersey to Tel Aviv. The shipments were headed to facilities belonging to Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer. At least one was explicitly identified in shipping records as part of the U.S. government’s Foreign Military Sales program.

And this is not the first time.

United transported nearly 3,000 shipments of military materiel to Israel over roughly seven months in 2025 and early 2026. The cargo ranged from fighter-jet and tank components to helmet-mounted displays, electronics, nuts, bolts, and other military equipment. Newark was the primary hub for these shipments, with all but 45 of the documented shipments departing from there.

More than 2,000 of those shipments were destined for Elbit Systems. Another 78 went to Lockheed Martin’s Israeli headquarters, while hundreds of others were reportedly bound for Israel’s Ministry of Defense and Israeli military air bases, including a base used by Israel’s F-35I fighter fleet.

United suspended its Tel Aviv service after the U.S. and Israel launched its unprovoked war on Iran at the end of February and Israel’s airspace closed to most foreign commercial traffic.

Since then, the flights, and therefore these shipments, were halted until United resumed its Newark–Tel Aviv passenger service on September 8. The very next day, military cargo was scheduled to return with it.

United has already shown these shipments can stop; we're demanding they stop for good.

A commercial airline carrying millions of passengers should not be transporting military equipment to a government carrying out an illegal occupation and a genocide of three years in Gaza. Passengers do not want the aircraft they’re on to be used as part of a military supply chain.

What can you do?

1. Tell United's CEO, Scott Kirby, President Brett J. Hart, and the rest of United’s leadership: Stop transporting weapons, military equipment, and other war materiel to Israel and adopt a public policy ensuring United passenger aircraft will not be used for these shipments again.
2. Cancel United: Avoid booking any United flights until and unless the airline stops transporting weapons materials to Israel.
3. Make it public: Post on social media and tell United why you're taking your business elsewhere:

I fly United to get from one place to another, not to help transport military equipment to Israel to commit war crimes and genocide. @United, stop carrying military materiel to Israel on passenger flights. Until you do, I’ll take my business elsewhere. #NoWeaponsOnUnited
