Take Action: Bring Sama Safi Home

For the past two months, 20-year-old American citizen and college student Sama Safi has been imprisoned by the Israeli military. She is living with a chronic auto-inflammatory disease and is being denied the medical care she urgently needs while enduring inhumane conditions.

At 3:00 a.m. on June 2, Israeli soldiers stormed Sama's family home, broke down the front door, and abducted her. That same night, they also raided homes and university dormitories to detain three other Palestinian students: Natalie Abu Dayyeh, Jolan Abu Awad, and Laila Nail Khalil. Sama is currently being held at Israel’s notorious Damon Prison, a detention facility where widespread abuse against detainees has been documented by human rights organizations.

The U.S. government has a responsibility to protect its citizens, including Sama. She must be released immediately so she can safely return home and receive the urgent medical treatment she needs.

Sama is an older sister, an artist who loves to paint, read poetry, play cards with friends, and spend time with her family, just like any other 20-year-old. Her two younger sisters describe her as their whole world, and her friends say she is "the sweetest person they know."
