When Ramadan Comes… But Al-Aqsa Is Closed

Statements

What if I told you that on the third Friday of Ramadan the third most sacred site in Islam would be closed?

As the illegal Israeli-American war on Iran enters its second week, devastation spreads across the Middle East. And in Palestine, we are witnessing another Ramadan under genocide, occupation, and apartheid.

Across Palestine, violations are escalating: Settlers are rampaging across the West Bank, killing Palestinians including Palestinian American Nasrallah Siyam, worshippers are blocked from Masjid Al-Aqsa during the holiest month of the year for Jummah and Taraweeh, Gaza is deliberately starved through delays and closures, while occupation and apartheid continue to be normalized.

Will you make a Ramadan gift today to power AMP’s political advocacy?

Three years into the genocide in Gaza, we see a new reality. What was once silenced is now spoken openly in the halls of Congress, on campuses, in city councils, and in the streets of cities across this country. This is the result of  Palestinians refusing to disappear, and because every day, people like you have helped build a growing movement that is rooted, principled, and determined.

At AMP, we’ve been leading efforts to turn outrage into organized, strategic political pressure that decision makers cannot ignore. Our supporters generated hundreds of thousands of calls and emails to Congress and the White House demanding action, and we brought more than 700 advocates to Washington, D.C., to meet directly with their elected officials. This on the ground power strengthens the policy work and campaigns needed to defend Palestinian rights and protect sacred spaces like Masjid Al-Aqsa.

We’ve reached the third Friday of Ramadan and are now more than halfway through a month meant for action. Give now! And with your help, we will keep moving forward because there is no turning back.
