AMP Condemns Israel’s Ethnic Cleansing Campaign in Hebron
American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) condemns Israeli occupation forces (IOF) ethnic cleansing campaign in the occupied Palestinian city of Hebron. Over the last few days, the IOF has laid siege to Hebron, forcibly displacing over 2,000 Palestinians with no prospect of ever returning. Within a moment's notice, innocent Palestinian women and children were forced to uproot their lives as the IOF continues to demolish hundreds of homes and businesses as a form of collective punishment.
Hebron is not the only Palestinian city to suffer this fate. Since 2025, the IOF has ethnically cleansed nearly 40,000 Palestinians from Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nur Shams in what human rights experts have deemed one of the largest ethnic cleansing campaigns since the occupation began in 1967. Hebron is not a one-off incident; it is an explicit feature within Israel’s campaign to ethnically cleanse Palestinians from the West Bank and entrench its fascist, apartheid rule.
What is unfolding in the occupied West Bank is a blatant violation of both U.S. and international law. Hebron is emblematic of the IOF’s desire to transform the West Bank into Gaza by replicating the same genocidal tactics that have been used for over the last three years – which was only made possible by the impunity granted to Israel by the U.S. and major western powers.
We call upon the U.S. government to break this horrific cycle of enablement and enforce accountability for Israeli war crimes against the Palestinian people. The American public does not support continued U.S. support for Israel, nor do they wish to see their tax dollars contribute to the suffering of Palestinians. It is long overdue for U.S. lawmakers to catch up with the will of the American people and do what is right.
