Rally today: Let Olmert know he is NOT welcome in Chicago

(CHICAGO 03/29/2012) -- Join the American Muslims for Palestine, the Chicago Movement for Palestinian Rights and Palestine Solidarity Group in protest as former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert speaks at The Chicago Club from 5:15 to 7 p.m. Thursday.

Olmert served as prime minister of Israel during both the 2006 war on Lebanon and the 2008-09 Gaza massacre. The attack on Lebanon resulted in more than 1,000 deaths, while the Gaza offensive left more than 1,400 dead and 5,300 injured. Do not let this war criminal make another appearance in Chicago without a proper reception.

This event will be hosted by The Chicago Council on Global Affairs. Serving as chairman for The Chicago Council is Lester Crown, a local billionaire and one of Israel's most prominent American supporters. He and his family have earned their fortune through their personal involvement with General Dynamics, a company that ranks among the world's largest defense contractors and weapons manufacturers. Of particular concern are GD's strategic partnerships with defense companies in Israel.
