AMP's Chicago Chapter is seeking to hire a local full-time Chapter Coordinator to coordinate all chapter committees and programs (part-time applicants may be considered as well). 

Qualifications:

  • Reliable and self-starter who can set and meet goals and deadlines
  • Good knowledge of and/or is willing to learn about the cause and history of Palestine
  • Good communications and public relations skills 
  • Non-profit work or volunteer experience
  • Previous experience with planning and/or coordinating events, committees, and meetings
  • Ability to present, lecture and speak in classroom settings and in public is a plus
  • Ability to speak Arabic is a plus. 
  • Ability and availability to work a flexible schedule, late evenings, and weekends whenever needed

Duties & Expectations: 

  • Coordinate with the Chicago Chapter and its committees to plan and implement AMP-Chicago events, including the AMP annual conference, annual fundraising dinner, the Nakba event, film screenings, rallies and demonstrations, lectures, and other such events. 
  • Manage all of the Chicago office's administrative affairs
  • Oversee the Chapter’s marketing and social media affairs
  • Coordinate volunteers for all events
  • Create and maintain a visually appealing AMP booth for major events and conferences
  • Identify opportunities for AMP leafleting and/or tabling, with the goal of marketing AMP to wider audiences
  • Act as liaison between AMP-Chicago and other Chicago-based social justice organizations and attend meetings to ensure AMP-Chicago involvement in local BDS and other Palestine advocacy campaigns
  • Build relationships with other Muslim/Arab, and other social justice organizations in the Chicago metro region
  • Work with, assist, and coordinate the educational committee efforts  in implementing its state-wide campaigns and projects
  • Attend chapter meetings and other committee meetings as needed
