We mourn the lives lost and continue to fight for our rights

As the devastating death toll in Gaza climbs towards 9,000, the impact on the Palestinian-American community is immeasurable. The loss of family, friends, and loved ones to this senseless violence creates an indelible mark on our collective spirit. This wanton violence, unchecked and relentless, extends its tragic reach across families, homes, and communities.

It is with profound sorrow that we inform you of the grievous loss suffered by members of our own team due to the ongoing Israeli onslaught on Gaza. Taher Herzallah, our esteemed outreach director, Zarefah Baroud, our dedicated digital media associate, and Alaa Abusaman, a board member of our Chicago Chapter, have tragically lost family members amid the continuous bombardment of Gaza. Despite facing such personal devastation, they have continued to demonstrate unwavering commitment and tireless efforts in their roles. 7 members of the Herzallah family and at least 25 members of the Baroud family have been killed by Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip in the past few weeks.

The entire team at American Muslims for Palestine extends our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Taher, Zarefah, and Alaa, and their families. In these times of unfathomable loss, we ask Allah (SWT) to accept them as martyrs and to safeguard their families and the resilient people of Gaza from further harm. We ask Allah (SWT) to grant them and their families resilience, fortitude, and unwavering strength during this time.

While we mourn the thousands of innocent Palestinian lives lost in Gaza due to the ongoing Israeli brutal genocide, we at AMP are more determined than ever to bring it to an end, especially as the Biden administration continues to be complicit in this horrific genocide. Please keep the victims, their families, and our community in your thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,
The AMP Family
