AMP-New York commemorates Land Day

AMP National Program Director Awad Hamdan addressed the audience gathered to commemorate Land Day on March 23 at Widdi Catering Hall in Brooklyn New York. The event, titled, “Stand Up for Palestine: A New Era of Activism” was meant to encourage those in attendance to become active in efforts to bring justice to Palestine, such as the global Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement. Hamdan was joined by AMP National Chapters Coordinator Rami Bleibel. The commemoration also featured a dabka performance by Al-Shaheed Abu-Jihad dabka group. Both men were in New York to meet with several activists intent on forming chapters in many of the city’s boroughs like Queens, for example.
