AMP joins coalition opposing Israel Anti-Boycott Act

News

The American Muslims for Palestine has joined together with a coalition of organizations, including Palestine Legal, the Center for Constitutional Rights, the US Palestine Community Network and others to oppose current bills in the House and the Senate that would criminalize boycott of Israel and Israeli products from illegal settlements in the West Bank.

The  Israel Anti-Boycott Act calls for fines of up to $1 million and 20 years' imprisonment for anyone participating in or even asking for information about campaigns boycotting Israel.

The ACLU last week sent a letter to legislators outlining how harmful the anti-boycott act is for American democracy as the bills violate the First Amendment.

AMP also is coordinating efforts in our chapters in New Jersey, California and elsewhere to moblize supporters to make in-district congressional office visits.
