AMP conducts multiple trainings in New York

(BROOKLYN, NY) – AMP National Board Member Dr. Osama Abu Irshaid and AMP National Director of Media and Communication Kristin Szremski conducted a half-day training seminar on Palestine at the MAS Youth Center in Brooklyn, NY, on Saturday, April 21, organized by AMP-New York.

Under the title, “Understanding Palestine,” attendees participated in an intensive training that covered the Islamic significance of Palestine, history, activism and media.

“With the geopolitical climate as it is, it is more important than ever for people learn how to counter Zionist propaganda with accurate historical facts,” Dr. Abu Irshaid said. “These trainings help focus activists on the important issues while giving them the tools they need to effectively advocate for Palestinian human rights and self-determination.”

On Friday, Ms. Szremski conducted a high school training at Al Noor Islamic school in Brooklyn. About 100 students learned about Palestinian history, including facts related to the Nakba, and how to use social media as an activist.
