AMP busy in Southern California recently

AMP-So Cal organized several events throughout the Los Angeles region in June. On May 18, the Islamic Center of Riverside hosted a Nakba commemoration event that featured Dr. Mustafa Koko, Mahmoud Al-Khalili and Taher Herzallah, AMP West Coast regional development coordinator.

On June 1, another Nakba commemoration event took place at the High Desert Islamic Society in Victorville; while on June 8, Rami Bleibel, AMP national chapters coordinator, gave a sermon about the importance of Jerusalem to Muslims at the Islamic Center of Hawthorne. Later that night, Herzallah joined Bleibel to speak about the Nakba and Israel’s occupation of Palestine.

Another Nakba commemoration event took place on June 13 at the Islamic Society of Corona-Norco with Imam Osman Umarji, Bleibel and Herzallah, who also spoke about the Nakba at the Islamic Center of Temecula Valley on June 15. Also on June 15, Bleibel gave a presentation about al-Isra' and al-Mi'raj (the Nigh Journey and Ascension) on stage with Sheikh Muzzamil Siddiqi of the Islamic Society of Orange County to an audience of about 150 people.
