Don’t set a timetable on another’s freedom

(CHICAGO 07/25/2011) --The American Muslims for Palestine has joined with the U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation and other leading national organizations in a petition to U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice asking them not to stand in the way of Palestinian self-determiniation.

While AMP, like the U.S. Campaign to End the Occupation, does not take a stance on the Palestinian bid for statehood, we strongly believe the U.S. should not veto a resolution for statehood if one is presented in the UN Security Council.

Join us in signing this petition -- either as an individual or as an authorized endorser on behalf of an organization --  to Secretary Clinton and Ambassador Rice calling on the United States not to veto Palestine's membership application in the Security Council.

The Security Council may begin debate on Palestine's membership application as soon as today. Sign today and help us get 100 organizational endorsements and 10,000 individual signatures.
