Attorney General’s Comments Reaffirming Relationship With American Muslims
The American Muslims For Palestine Hail Attorney General’s Comments Reaffirming Relationship With American Muslims
The American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) applauds U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder for his comments today about the government's relationship with Muslim Americans and for reaffirming the American values of justice and civil rights for all. Holder's comments came on the heels of the positive statement President Barack Obama made from Egypt Thursday to the Muslim world.
In his statement, the attorney general said: "The President's pledge for a new beginning between the United States and the Muslim community takes root here in the Justice Department where we are committed to using criminal and civil rights laws to protect Muslim Americans. A top priority of this Justice Department is a return to robust civil rights enforcement and outreach in defending religious freedoms and other fundamental rights of all of our fellow citizens in the workplace, in the housing market, in our schools and in the voting booth.”

AMP calls on our supporters to call the Attorney General and to thank him for his comments. Mr. Holder can be reached at 202.353.1555.
- Thank the Attorney General for reaching out to the American Muslim community and for reaffirming the American principles of fairness and justice for all.
- Ask Mr. Holder to re-examine the several Islamic charitable organizations, most of which were closed under President George Bush's administration.
- Ask Mr. Holder to especially re-examine the technicalities and prosecutorial procedures in all of the so-called “terrorism” cases brought to trial under previous administrations.
