Media Director to speak at national BDS conference

News

Kristin Szremski, director of media and communications at the American Muslims for Palestine, will be presenting a session on exposing Zionism at the national Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions conference in Philadelphia in February. Titled, “Talking to Beginners about BDS, Israel and Zionism,” Szremski will be a co-panelist along with Pamela Olson, author of “Fast Times in Ramallah,” on Sunday, Feb. 5.  Szremski will speak about the results of AMP research into Zionist organizations and individuals and how they work to shut down pro-Palestinian activism.

The event will take place from Feb. 3 to 5 at the University of Pennsylvania. It is the first such effort since the Hamphsire BDS conference in 2009.

The event will feature two days of panel discussions, debates, activist workshops, and keynotes by Ali Abunimah and novelist Susan Abulhawa touching on every aspect of the global effort to heed the BDS call, according to the conference website. Other conference speakers include author Max Blumenthal, Andrew Kadi, human rights activist and steering committee member of the U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation;  Dr. Dalit Baum, co-founder of WhoProfits.org; and poet Remi Kanazi.
