Palestine Portal, one-stop resource for churches and others, launches

One year ago, Kairos USA invited the American Muslims for Palestine and other organizations to a retreat to discuss ways to bring the issue of Palestine to more churches across the country.

Kairos USA is the American counterpart to Kairos Palestine, a Christian effort started in Jerusalem to encourage the Christian community to embrace justice and work for Palestinian rights.

One result of this weekend-long meeting is the Palestine Portal, which launched on June 1. The new website is a one-stop resource center for information and resources for church communities who want to learn more about Palestine and/or begin taking action.

AMP is extremely excited about this new development because the movement for Palestinian rights is growing quickly among Christians churches of various denominations, and we were honored to be a part of the process.

“When you go to the Palestine Portal website and see the large and eclectic coalition of Christian, Jewish, Muslim and other social justice organizations supporting this effort, it’s proof that the movement for Palestinian rights in the United States is strong and robust,” said AMP Director of Media and Communications Kristin Szremski, who attended the Kairos retreat and contributed to the concept for the website. “Palestine Portal is a great tool and resource for Christian churches – and everyone, actually – who wants to enter this important social justice movement or take their activism for Palestinian rights to a new level.”
